In an effort to promote Virginia’s slogan, “Virginia is for Lovers,” the state began the LOVEwork program in 2013 where businesses, residences, local and state government agencies have created LOVE signs.
Today there are over 450 official and unofficial LOVE signs across the state. Each sign artistically displays the same four letters, L-O-V-E, in creative displays that showcase the business or area.
Make traveling across town, across the state, to the big cities, small towns, through the mountains, or along the coast an adventure to find LOVE. Put a little bit more LOVE in your life and pictures. These signs are a bright spot in many of the communities and an excellent backdrop for a family or group outing, date night, or just to put a smile on your face.
With so many across the state, you will not have to go out of your way very far to get a picture or two as you travel along the interstates, scenic byways, and gravel country roads during your next getaway or trip to the grocery store.
So, on your next trip, make it a scavenger hunt to find the LOVE signs along your route.
