Don’t Look Back
- Address: 3306 W. Broad St. Richmond, VA, VA 23230
Don’t Look Back is hands down my favorite taco shop. The tacos are delicious and reasonably priced and they have plenty of vegan and gluten free options. They feature an a la carte taco menu, so you can mix and match as many different tacos as your heart desires!
They have two locations, but if you’re looking for a fun night out with friends, Don’t Look Back – Triple is the location you’re looking for. This location is in a building that used to be a bustling hipster hangout/biker bar about 15 years ago. It’s busy, but spacious and they have pool tables and table shuffleboard to stay and play after your meal.
Little Mexico
- Address: 1328 W Cary St, Richmond, VA 23220
Little Mexico is the quintessential Mexican food spot with never ending chips and salsa and daily happy hour specials.
This restaurant is located just near the Virginia Commonwealth University campus, so don’t be surprised if it’s overrun with college kids trying to get their hands on $5 nachos.
Their taco options include ground beef, fish, steak, shrimp, or chicken and the entree portions are large enough to share between two people or to take home for leftovers. You may have to wait a few minutes for a table at Little Mexico, but this busy restaurant has great food and cheap prices.
En Su Boca Taqueria and Cantina
- Address: 1001 N Arthur Ashe Blvd, Richmond, VA 23230
This is one of the most popular taco shops in Richmond for Taco Tuesday! Although the restaurant is on the smaller side, their central location and outdoor patio make it a great place to grab dinner with a few friends.
Their tacos are sold a la carte, so you can mix and match your favorites.
If you’re not in the mood for tacos, check out some of their other popular menu items like ceviche, chips and salsa or guacamole, and salt brined chicken wings. It’s always busy at En Su Boca, so there may be a short wait to get a table, but the staff is always attentive and friendly.

Casa del Barco
- Address: 320 S 12th St, Richmond, VA 23219
Casa del Barco operates three locations in Richmond, but make sure you head over to their downtown location for one of the city’s best outdoor patio dining opportunities.
Their patio is situated on a quiet sidewalk along the James River Canal Walk where you can enjoy tacos with fresh ingredients like mango salsa, jalapeno crema, and chipotle aioli.
This restaurant is a little more on the pricey side than some other taco spots, but it’s the perfect place to enjoy a nice meal with friends or your significant other. One of the highlights of this restaurant is their selection of specialty margaritas to go with your meal, so come thirsty!
