This is a local mountain in the best sense of the word. You will see regulars catching up at the base of the mountain, especially on sunny, bluebird weekends, lounging in Adirondack chairs.

An outdoor hut allows grownups to indulge in a beer or hard cider, while the kids can grab baked apple topped waffles.

The Copper Kettle serves a sit down meal, with a full bar, while those who are in a rush to get back on the mountain can grab-and-go at the cafeteria style cafe. There is a small ski shop is onsite if you forget any gear.

Get ready to kick back and enjoy a lazy day on the mountain with friends and family.

Blue Knob boasts the highest skiable mountain in Pennsylvania, making it worth the drive for anyone visiting Wahsington, D.C., Baltimore or Philadelphia. The resort has 34 trails with a vertical drop of 1072 feet, with most trails for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, but plenty for beginners to take advantage of during a visit.

Also, check out the Blue Knob Golf Course, on resort, for a brief 9-hole game while enjoying the sights of the Allegheny Mountains.

Winter brings loads of adventure to Snowshoe Mountain resort, including three unique ski areas of 60+ trails, 40 bike trails, and activities like snowmobiling, tubing, biking and swimming.

There is a shuttle service onsite to get you from the hotel to various activities, like the spa where you will want to relax after an active day in the snow.

Don’t be deceived by the name– Snowshoe is fantastic in the summer too! The Snowshoe Bike Park is highly regarded and ranked one of the best in West Virginia. The 2021 Mountain Bike World Cup is set to take place at the resort and will serve as the only location in the United States to hold an event for this championship.

Mountain biking lessons are also available at the resort.

Timberline Four Seasons Resort resort is located just 6 miles from Canaan Valley Resort in Davis, West Virginia, which give you a convenient place to stay close to the slopes. The ski resort has a big snow terrain park on the property, perfect for performing tricks and learning how to handle various terrains.

However, this resort is particularly attractive to those who love cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails.
