This Richmond favorite has been serving up fresh pizza at their Shockoe Bottom restaurant for years. Bottoms Up Pizza offers a variety of specialty and made-to-order pizza options including gluten-free crust, vegan cheese and toppings, and more!
Their restaurant is spacious and features a large dine-in patio.
If you’re not in the mood for pizza, check out some of their other items like smoked barbeque, pasta, or burgers. Make sure you save some room for their homemade cheesecake!
PBR (Pizza & Beer of Richmond)
PBR opened just a few years ago in Richmond’s Fan district, just past the end block of Carytown. This warehouse turned pizzeria offers a selection of thin crust specialty pies as well as a huge draft list of rotating beers and other drinks.
Their spacious patio features shaded picnic tables and a bocce ball course for enjoying an afternoon of drinks and food with friends.
Mary Angela’s is a small, no-frills restaurant that has been a Richmond staple for years. This locally owned and operated restaurant features subs, pasta, pizza, and more all made fresh to order.
The restaurant is very small, but always busy so I would recommend taking your food to go and enjoying it on a night in with a glass of wine.
Belmont Pizzeria is a small, storefront pizzeria with a small counter for ordering and just a few tables and chairs, but don’t let the atmosphere for this pizzeria fool you! They have some of the best Sicilian style pizzas, garlic knots, calzones, and Greek salads in Richmond, Virginia!

8 ½ Cafe
8 ½ Cafe is an Italian take out restaurant with two locations in Richmond, VA. Their classic red sauce pizza starts at just $12 with each topping additional and they have specialty pizzas like their calzone pizza, vegan pizza, or breakfast pizza.
This cafe also offers Italian entrees, pasta, heroes, and an array of desserts.
The Hop Craft Pizza & Beer
The Hop is a new, community-focused Richmond pizza parlor located in The Fan district of RVA.
The thing that sets them apart from other pizza shops is their house made dough that is always fermented for at least 48 hours before cooking. They pair traditional American and Sicilian techniques to bring you a one of a kind pizza experience.
The Hop is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with dine-in, takeout, and delivery options – including beer delivery!
Carmela’s is a cozy neighborhood pizzeria located in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom district. Their menu features items like brick oven fired pizzas and Sicilian housemade antipasti.
The restaurant is small, but cozy, and offers indoor seating and a small outdoor patio for an intimate dinner.
Hot for Pizza
Hot for Pizza is a locally owned, hipster pizza spot offering quick, affordable meal options. If you’re a fan of deep dish pizza, you HAVE to try their version of the Chicago style favorite.
Hot for Pizza is always trying out new and exciting things as well as offering plenty of vegan options including vegan meats and cheese.

Pies and Pints is a modern pizza chain with one location in Richmond. They feature a large selection of local and national craft beers on tap and inventive specialty pizza options. If you’re looking for something unique, try out their street corn or sriracha shrimp pizza.
This restaurant is located on a busy main street, so there is no outdoor seating available.
Mellow Mushroom is actually a chain restaurant that operates a few locations in and around Richmond. Their Carytown location features a family-friendly, dine-in restaurant serving fresh, stone-baked pizza. Their specialty pizzas feature a variety of ingredients or you can build your own with options like gluten-free crust or vegan cheese.
