25 Unique Ways to Experience Nightlife in Baltimore

If you’re a nyctophile, check out these fun late-night things to do in Baltimore.

I’m not going to lie to you guys. These days, I’m in bed by 9 PM and am knocked out within half an hour tops. But not too long ago, my nights didn’t start till 9 PM and they would go on well into the morning.

Charm City is a magnificent tourist destination and the city comes alive as much at night as it does during the daytime. From magic shows and pub crawls to ghost tours and sleepovers at the aquarium, there’s no shortage of things to do in Baltimore at night.

Nightlife in Baltimore

Magic Show at Illusions Bar & Lounge

  • Address: 1025 S Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21230 | Website

When you head into this marvelous 1920’s-style Art Deco bar, you’re going to fall in love with the laid-back vibe as well as the extensive cocktail list. But what’s really going to take you by surprise is the live magic show they host every weekend. Resident magician Spencer Horsman brings you over 90 minutes of uncontrollable laughter and awe during this adults-only show.

Sunset/ Dinner Tour with Charm City Helicopters

Address: 1800 S. Clinton Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21224 | Website

Charm City Helicopters offers one of my absolute favorite things to do at night – but be warned, it is also one of the priciest. Their VIP Dinner Tour Package can be personalized to include dinner at one of Baltimore’s wonderful harborside restaurants such as Fogo de Chao or Phillips Seafood. You can then take a limo to the helipad on Pier 7 where a flight awaits you. You’ll see views of the sun setting over the Baltimore skyline and watch as the sky darkens and the city lights up beneath you.

Dinner Cruise with the Spirit of Baltimore

Address: Inner Harbor, Baltimore | Website

If you love the views from above with the helicopter tour, you’ll equally enjoy the view of Baltimore’s skyline from the Inner Harbor and the Patapsco River. The Spirit of Baltimore Dinner Cruise is one of my favorite ways to enjoy a night in Charm City. In addition to the gorgeous views, the cruise could include a delicious buffet dinner, live performances, a DJ and dancing, and more.

Baltimore Ghost Tours

  • Address: Lancaster Street & South Broadway | Website

Being the home of macabre genius Edgar Allen Poe, you can’t visit Charm City and not go on a ghost tour. The tour covers local landmarks and delves into its history, no matter how many ghosts and ghouls are uncovered. Just remember that as you walk through the dark alleys and cobblestone streets, all of the stories are authentic.

Fells Point Pub Crawl

You can crawl through as many pubs as you want on your own because if you blindly throw a stone in Fells Point, it’s going to hit a bar. But if you’re visiting or new in Baltimore, don’t worry because there are tons of scheduled bar crawl events in the city. A quick google search will show a bar crawl for anything and everything – Christmas, Ugly Sweater, Boozing in Your Onesie.

Hookah Lounge & Bar

  • Address: 206 S Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 | Website

There are several hookah lounges and bars in Baltimore, though the Hookah Pearl Lounge is one of my favorites. The vibe is super cozy and laid back and it’s a great place to meet up with some friends for food, drinks, and of course, hookah. There are even live music performances on some nights!

Monster Mini Golf

  • Address: 1969 East Joppa Road, Parkville, MD 21234 | Website

If you’re feeling energetic, spend your Friday nights with an adventurous round of mini-golf with your friends! Indoors and flooded with black lights, this round of mini-golf is sure to be unforgettable – especially with all the animated monsters you’ll come across at each of the 18 holes. They also have an impressive arcade, laser tag arena, and maze. You’re guaranteed to have a fun time and it’s the perfect choice for a date night!

Bowling at Mustang Alley’s

  • Address: 1300 Bank St #2, Baltimore, MD 21231 | Website

Open till near midnight on weekends, Mustang Alley’s is a Baltimore staple. You can spend hours at the bar, bistro, and bowling alley without even realizing how quickly time passed by. While there are tons of bowling alleys in and around Baltimore, I would suggest Mustang Alley’s for a truly memorable local experience. Be sure to try the calamari and the shrimp tacos while you’re there!

Laugh it up at a Comedy Show

The Baltimore Comedy Factory, Magooby’s Joke House, Baltimore Improv Group (BIG), Charm City Comedy – the options are endless! You’ll find everyone from comedic classics to up-and-coming local artists. The best thing about this is that one, there are comedy clubs all over Baltimore so you could pick a location convenient to you, and two, you’ll find comedy events to fit any budget; I’ve even gone to a show or two that had $3 tickets!

Benjie’s Drive-In Theater

  • Address: 3417 Eastern Blvd, Middle River, MD 21220 | Website

Open in early spring and into late fall depending on the weather, Benjie’s Drive-In Theater is a unique thing to do at night just because drive-in theaters are so uncommon. They have one of the biggest movie theater screens in the nation and the vibe is so perfect – especially on warm summer nights! Tickets are often to a double feature that has been paired accordingly and you are welcome to stay for as long as you want. There are snacks for purchase on site – overall, it’s a fun way to enjoy a night in Baltimore.

Dancing the Night Away in One of Baltimore’s Many Clubs

And if you’re looking for something to do in Baltimore extremely late into the night, head to one of the city’s notable clubs like the Mirage Night Club or Mosaic in Power Plant Live. With Vegas-like vibes, music that will get your heart pumping, and tons of choices on the drink menu, you’ll not want to leave even at the end of the night.
